I think it was finally restored and released on dvd last year. The same little theatre also shows the full, uncut version of Steamboat Willie and Song of the South....with all of the animal cruelty glorification and blatant racism respectively.phillipthe2https://www.blogger.com/profile/17751436376944257745noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3965951790123936165.post-82829274316854362102011-09-08T05:12:05.937-04:002011-09-08T05:12:05.937-04:00That DPI-drop may just come in handy if ever I get...That DPI-drop may just come in handy if ever I get back in the editing game.

Funny you should mention Archie's prospective menage partners-the first hint I noticed of that series' less whitebread undertones came in the form of an ad for their overtly adult knockoff "Cherry".

Dali & Disney?? Shockingly elegant short film there...and as for Walt's secret stash, further possible proof that we're all human.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3965951790123936165.post-14205898139577578262011-09-02T20:56:16.784-04:002011-09-02T20:56:16.784-04:00Anon: Actually, my first intro into alter-illustra...Anon: Actually, my first intro into alter-illustration was by way of a certain men's magazine. I went digging through my father's stacks of Playboys (I was 13-ish) and noticed that early cartoons by Dan DeCarlo looked awfully similar to Betty and Veronica (Archie Comics)....and sure enough.

Back when I was in the military I got to talking to a warrant officer who use to do a lot of graphic art for Disney...advertisements, dvd / vcr covers, etc. He said there were plenty of rumors floating around that even Uncle Walt himself had done similar stuff, but it was all destroyed upon his death in '66. If it exists (and that's a big IF) it would become the holy grail of pin-up art.

On the opposite end of the spectrum there's 'Destino', an art film by Salvador Dalí & Walt Disney (1946)...which is about as racy as Walt's stuff got while he was alive: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GFkN4deuZU

As for my edits....ehhhh....I have a bag full of tricks to make them took that sharp. Most of it equates to working on them at a huge dpi and then dropping it something less bandwidth killing....the lower dpi then gets rid of the majority of any imperfections.phillipthe2https://www.blogger.com/profile/17751436376944257745noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3965951790123936165.post-16959776310461611242011-09-02T07:22:10.708-04:002011-09-02T07:22:10.708-04:00Between Supes' oh-so-iconic trunks over tights...Between Supes' oh-so-iconic trunks over tights and Wonder Woman creator William Moulton Marston's amply-documented kinkitude, that honestly doesn't surprise me much. Something else to look up on my next library trip, natch.

Most villain/hero kink-pics have struck me as an extrapolation of their onscreen/panel aggression, with one party firmly in control. In my somewhat skewed opinion, Shego & KP have too much of a fine yin/yang balance for either one to just run roughshod over the other...unless asked nicely first. Plus, Sheeg's usually working with Drakken, so I'd say her humiliation karma-meter's more than topped off already.

Fanboy psychobabble aside, I've done a bit of (very) primitive line-tweaking & color-fidgeting myself, and trust me when I say that your edits turn out exponentially sharper.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3965951790123936165.post-33314218941091824582011-08-31T21:55:52.514-04:002011-08-31T21:55:52.514-04:00Ari: I'm never really one for the "tiny d...Ari: I'm never really one for the "tiny details", but the addition of the tat was a little too irresistible.

Anon: Juxtaposition sounds so much better than "edit" or "cut-n-paste". In that respect, most of the S&M / Bondage ones I've seen (KP and company or otherwise) do have that certain forced quality to them.

On a related note, I'm in the middle of reading "Secret Identity: The Fetish Art of Superman’s Co-Creator Joe Shuster" by Craig Yoe.phillipthe2https://www.blogger.com/profile/17751436376944257745noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3965951790123936165.post-51788533930612994812011-08-31T05:25:58.028-04:002011-08-31T05:25:58.028-04:00Nice to see I'm not the only KP fantrawler who...Nice to see I'm not the only KP fantrawler who remembers this artist, and juxtaposing these originally separate pieces works all too well. The saucy, confident smiles sported by *both* participants are another fine touch...by & large, I have zero use for the non-consensual/hyper-domme undertones tapped by all too many S&M/bondage fanpics. Finally, those wacky black mitts are a fairly unique accessory, and the piercings suggest rather more mutual trust than casual KP viewers would expect 'tween these two. Well, that and the whole "badass image upgrade" schtick.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3965951790123936165.post-448469202291178052011-08-31T00:40:16.441-04:002011-08-31T00:40:16.441-04:00The little heart tattoo Kim's sporting is a re...The little heart tattoo Kim's sporting is a really nice touch.Ari Rockefellerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14666116299774106348noreply@blogger.com
