Faces of Flo

Here's a little "method to my madness" one for ya'll.  I couldn't really decide what facial expression to give Flo, so often times I'll do two or three versions of the same piece before shadowing and highlights are added.  More often than not I will stick with whichever version "says 'yes' to me", but sometimes I will combine the best features from the various versions.  I liked the center one with the eyes rolling up in her head, but instead opted for the one on the left since a lot of detail is lost when re-sampling from hi-res (300dpi or more) to an internet-friendly low-res version (200dpi or less, typically 72-150dpi)....this one is reduced from 300 to 250dpi so you can still see the detail.  Likewise, the eyes on the center one would appear as having little of no pupil when re-sampled and the left would be too dark after shadows are added.

Tats

What can I say?  For as much as I would have liked to finish all of the tattoos she has in the original, I got absolutely fed up with doing it.  The more I colored her tattoos the more it looked like she was just a cartoon covered in cartoons....if that makes any sense....so I simplified it "just a bit".

Yaku

Bill Maus did the original sketch and brushed inks on this one back in October of '09 and I picked it up with the intention of coloring it.  Somewhere between my demise on deviantART and the typical daily grind it got pushed to the back burner...and almost made it into the garbage disposal.  I was going through all of my unfinished stuff late last night with the intention of deleting a few things....but ended up finishing the inks on this one instead. I've seen a couple of colored versions, but....ehhhhh....I kinda like it in black and white.

Dr Freud Says Hi

Yet another one of that oh so under-appreciated MILF, Peg Pete from Goof Troop.  Huh...do you know what I just realized? With exception of one or two, I've been doing nothing but sexy materntal figures as of late.

Quick, somebody call Dr Freud....we have a winner!

Venturing Into Vice

I've had a couple of people ask what I draw inspiration from for the sketches I color.  Well, T&A is the obvious answer, but in this case I was watching the pilot episode of Miami Vice (circa Sept '84) this evening and (for whatever reason) remembered this sketch of Tatiana Orpheus.  Bikini-clad ex-wife of a cartoon necromancer versus '80s chic south Florida vice cops.  Ok, yeah....that's a bit of a stretch even for me.

I guess we can also call this my "thanks for the 200k hits" pic too since I'm about 700 away.  Damn...it was only this past May when I hit 100k.  "You like me, you really like me!!"

Mrs Stoppable

Damnit!!  Sonofabitch!!  Make the hurting stop!!

I got that damned song "Pretty In Pink" stuck in my head....and for a metalhead such as myself it's like the sound of nails on a chalk board, chewing broken glass, and standing in a hail storm all at the same time.

At any rate, I originally intended for the background on the Mrs Possible one to be on this one, but....ehhhh....if it isn't overly obvious by now, I'm a lazy bastard when it comes to scenery.  Why fix what ain't broke?

Naughty and Nice

Ok, so I had to do the nice and cute one...  Like there was any doubt I'd do a naughty Smurfette as a follow-up.  Please...you people should know me better than that by now.

Retro Cheesecake - Part Two

Back in February I went a little retro.  Ummm, no...I did not start wearing bell bottoms, platform boots (the ones with the zippers up the side), and shirts with collars so big one could take flight in a stiff breeze.  I do have some school pictures circa 1979 wearing exactly that (and a matching "disco vest"), but I've since repressed all memories of the event.  I did however, take a little walk down 1970's Sci-Fi lane and got a one-off print of Lieutenant Sheba from Battlestar Galactica by Andy LaRoy:

Fast forward six months....Andy did a commissioned companion piece of Lieutenant Athena for someone else so I said to myself, "Self, you've gotta get a matching pair."  Enter Erosarts (he's also on DA) to save the day with an extremely high quality print (and reasonably priced to boot).  Sorry, the photo is a little on the dark-ish side:

Smurfette

What can I say?  Occassionally, you just have to do a cutsie one.....now in de-statued form.

Kigo and the Red Baron

Not much to say about this one other than it's been sitting in my "wanna color" folder for over two years.  I won't say that I'm beginning to dislike Kigo.  On the contrary, I like many others am still fairly infatuated with the pairing, but I'm simply growing tired of doing them.  At some point I'm sure even old Charles Schultz said something to the effect of, "Fuck this stupid ass non-football kickin' bald headed motherfucker...and his doghouse flyin' beagle too."  ....and then went right back to drawing them.

....and it's 3:45am.  Flip me over, I'm done.

Frankarella

Damn, has it actually been nearly a month since I posted any works?  Well, we can't have that now can we?  So, to make it up to all of you fine (and less than fine) folks out there here is....no, it's not Kim Possible circa 2050....it's Frankarella, Frankie Foster's Barbarella inspired alter ego.  Well, more like fever induced alter ego.
