Ten years has passed since I first saw this old meme on SomethingAwful forums...and to be quite honest, I'd completely forgotten about it after it's hay-day ended some time in 2003. This afternoon however, I was driving home from work with the top off the Jeep and I got stuck at the same damned, slow-ass traffic light underneath a highway overpass that's gotten me a few thousand times over the past six or seven years. Feeling the same sense of exasperation I do every other time (the other half is a sense of rage), I closed my eyes and leaned my head back against the headrest.
When I opened my eyes I expected to see the same old grimy concrete, John Deere green-painted beams, and that damned traffic light...mocking me. Maybe I'll get lucky and see a nice chunk of crumbling concrete infrastructure, just before it hits me in the face...then sue the DOT and never have to make this god awful commute, ever again. Instead, there it was, freshly spray painted in all of it's graffiti-ese glory: All Your Base Are Belong To Us.
