Your Wish Is My Command

I'm not a huge Fairly OddParents fan, but several months ago I made an off-handed remark that I really oughta do something from the show....so here's one of Trixie Tang from the "Beach Bummed" episode.  Yet another one that, at least in my opinion, looks better without all the shading and highlights.

Fancy Meeting You Here - Part 2

By semi-popular-ish demand, here's an unfinished version of the entire original sketch.  I get the impression that Linno originally intended for her to be laying on her stomach, but changed it mid-sketch....which threw the lower anatomy out of whack.  Sorry, I don't have any plans on finishing it.

Fancy Meeting You Here

"Well, hello there Princess...fancy meeting you here."

In other news....once again, I seemed to have missed yet another milestone.  I crossed over the 700,000 mark early yesterday morning.  So, we'll call this a "thanks for stopping by" piece.

Dead In The Water?

As of this morning it would seem that SOPA will be redrafted.  That's according to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith (R-Texas) who said the committee "will postpone consideration of the legislation until there is wider agreement on a solution."

"I have heard from the critics and I take seriously their concerns regarding proposed legislation to address the problem of online piracy," Smith said. "It is clear that we need to revisit the approach on how best to address the problem of foreign thieves that steal and sell American inventions and products."

The move came shortly after the Senate postponed a key vote on the PIPA bill scheduled for next week and amid calls for a consensus before Congress moves forward on any legislation to address the problem of foreign piracy websites.  Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-Vermont), champion of PIPA, warned "The day will come when the senators who forced this move will look back and realize they made a knee-jerk reaction to a monumental problem."

No Mr Leahy, you don't seem to get it.  When one petition alone (Google's) receives 4.5 million signatures, over one million emails are sent to congressmen regarding SOPA and PIPI, and 7,000+ sites (including this one) either 'go dark' or protest against said legislation...all within a 24 hours period...that's not just some trivial, knee-jerk reaction.

"Senator, you have a call on line one....it's the Arab Spring calling."

Lights Are On

Well, the great internet blackout is over, but if you think for even a second that SOPA / PIPA are dead in the water then you are sadly mistaken.  They're still there, lurking in the shadows, like thieves in the night.  Keep in mind that these pieces on legislation were put together by lobbyists from the music, movie, and television industries....not internet technologists...people who have little if any comprehension of the far-reaching implications of their actions / greed. Simply put, money is the driving force behind Congress, not the will of the people....always has been, always will be....and, irregardless of how much they bellyache about losing money to piracy,  these industry giants ain't hurting for cash.  Put the power of the people on one end of the scale...and their check book on the other.  See which one comes up short.

In case you missed it:
