Another rare commish featuring two of my not-so-secret obsessions....Kim Possible and Slave Leia. Considering how absolutely horrible I am at commission ideas (characters, poses, etc), I was surprised this was the first thing that popped into my head.
Several months back, Mike asked me to spit his original commissioned piece (that I colored several years ago) into two separate works. The Princess Mandie portion came out fairly decent....the Chel side, not so much.
Well, hell. It would seem that I got all wrapped up in my life in general....and completely forgot about Gagala's 2014 Halloween pic. I promised him I wouldn't release it until Halloween eve, but it would seem that another individual (who more than likely made a similar promise to him) blew his load prematurely and threw it straight onto Paheal two weeks ago.
As most of you know, Gagala has had a rough go of it as of late...for quite few years in fact. I won't go into any great detail here, but believe me, none of the details are good by any stretch of the imagination. To say that he is a "starving artist" would be huge understatement.
Love him or hate him, you have to admire the man's commitment to his art, especially in the face of so much adversity.
So, with that said, the G-man has set up a Patreon account to help make ends meet. You don't have to give a lot, no set dollar amounts, just whatever you feel like contributing. If a single dollar is the only thing you can afford, hey, every little bit helps.
Firstly, my apologies for the extended absence and lack of posts...house buying and moving has a tendency to do that. So, here we are...good ol' Ann Possible...another rare commissioned work. Call it a house warming gift.
Ever wonder what happened to Erin Esurance? Well, quite literally....Rule 34 happened. It would seem that in mid-2010 Esurance began to survey the market and discovered that she was becoming somewhat unpopular with the 18 to 34 crowd. Not quite on the same level as Microsoft's "Clippy", but pretty damned close. Additionally, the company took notice of the fact that just about every Google search yielded some type of porn version of her. Most companies look the other way when their mascot becomes Rule34'd, some even embrace it, because they know full-well that it actually serves as a hush-hush form of advertisement. Esurance however, outright killed her off and gave us vanilla flavored "techies and feelies" instead.
Robots, not notable for their ability to recognized the subtleties of human language. Take the double entendre for example....I don't know about the futuristic utopian society that is The Jetsons, but telling your robot housemaid "I feel kinda dirty" in the near future might yield some unintended consequences.
As of 9/6/14, posted on wwoec forum's Introductions and Departures thread: If the forum admin / moderators would be so kind as to add me to the forum's Do Not Post list, it would be greatly appreciated. This will be my last post on wwoec. Regards, Phillipthe2
If someone would inform me when/if they have indeed done so, it would be greatly appreciated.
Just saw Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Ehhh, I dunno...it kinda lost something that the first movie seemed to capture. That dark, gritty feel...replaced by a little too much "color". Still though, great movie...and inspired me to do a little something.
A member in good standing since 2009, no previous adverse disciplinary actions, a weekly (if not daily) contributor of artwork, a weekly or bi-weekly contributor of my own artwork, and (as far as I can tell) a fairly well-liked member of the forum in general.
...and this is how my many years of good deeds are repaid.
The details of which are unimportant and trivial, but...suffice it to say...this is the point at which I wave goodbye to wwoec.
Yet another 'minimalist' coloring, by my standards. In truth I'm in the middle of buying a house...so, what with work shenanigans and real estate shenanigans, I just haven't had any time or energy left over for artistic shenanigans.
I failed to notice that Gagala posted a couple of summertime related pics over on his site. Additionally, there's also a larger version of the original 2014 Summertime piece on his site as well. The G-man also said that he seems to have gotten his long-time site software woes fixed. So, more than likely, you'll begin to see his new stuff there first.
