Call Me Slumpie

I've been in a real creative slump as of late and can't seem to complete (what I normally consider to be) the simplest of works.  I open something, draw maybe two or three lines, color some small and insignificant item, and then....lose all interest in what I'm doing.  It's not that I'm uninspired...I do have some rather interesting things in the works...I just seem to lack the motivation to 'git-r-done'.  Fuck!  I hate that expression!

I dunno, maybe it's just the stresses of everyday life catching up to, work, love life (or lack there of as of late), feelings of under-appreciation, etc, etc.  Yeah, I know what you're saying right about now, "Hey Phil...shuddup, quit whining, stop being such a whoosie, and draw us something to drool over!"  Maybe tomorrow will cheer me up a's payday after all.

In the mean time I'll leave you something to occupy your time until I can pull my head out my ass:

All Apologies

The long-running web comic "Where Have All The Villains Gone?" by the Gonz├ílez brothers ended some time ago, but it is currently being re-run in Spanish.  I got into a short discussion about the series' artwork with Tooner two days ago and mentioned that I'd had this pic in my "wanna color" folder on my desktop for quite a while.  I guess that was all the motivation I needed.

Big Break

Some characters are destined for super stardom....and some are destined to remain in the shadows unless they take some 'drastic measures'.  Such is the case of poor, under-rated, wide-hipped Peg Pete from Goof Troop.  Hell, Magica De Spell (Duck Tails) and Nani (Lilo & Stitch) have more screen time than poor old Peg.

Leela - De-Tooned

A slightly re-vamped version of Captain Turanga Leela I did some time ago, but (for whatever reason) never posted....and yes, that actually is her full name and title.  Originally it included a de-tooned version of Fry with a Planet Express logo in the background, but I'll be damned if I can find the finished version.  Somewhere between the death of my old computer's hard drive and parting ways with a certain website that I need not mention, it seems to have disappeared.

I had completely forgotten that I'd done this one until I was watching a Sons of Anarchy marathon.  Katey Sagal, best known for her role as Peggy Bundy on 'Married With Children', plays the matriarch of a northern California biker gang.  Likewise, I also completely forgot that she was in a couple of episodes of one of my all-time favorite TV shows, The Shield.  She's the voice of Leela.

What Is This Feeling?

A cute little KiGo collaberation I did with SEGnosis last year...just before he got the boot from deviantART.  Naturally, though due to unrelated circumstances, I followed in his footsteps a few months later.  Some of you may remember him by way of some animation he did with a piece by DarkDP.

Mother - Daughter Day

So, what comes to mind when you hear the phrase "mother - daughter day"?  Shopping for clothes at the mall, getting their hair done at the beauty salon, or maybe a little tanning bed action?  How about a full-body massage and a facial?  Yeah, ok....get you minds out of the gutter.

It would seem however, that Ann Possible has a slightly different interpretation of the phrase.  It's either that or she's had one too many glasses of Merlot at dinner and has forgotten where her own bedroom is.

Come and Get It Boys

Yet another one that didn't seem to make it from my old deviantART account.  I had completely forgotten about it until I saw a very similar one by HvonD.
