Well, shit.

I (and I assume just about everyone with an 'adult content' blog) received this via email yesterday:

Dear Blogger User,
We're writing to tell you about an upcoming change to the Blogger Content Policy that may affect your account.

In the coming weeks, we'll no longer allow blogs that contain sexually explicit or graphic nude images or video. We'll still allow nudity presented in artistic, educational, documentary, or scientific contexts, or where there are other substantial benefits to the public from not taking action on the content.

The new policy will go into effect on the 23rd of March 2015. After this policy goes into effect, Google will restrict access to any blog identified as being in violation of our revised policy. No content will be deleted, but only blog authors and those with whom they have expressly shared the blog will be able to see the content we've made private.

Our records indicate that your account may be affected by this policy change. Please refrain from creating new content that would violate this policy. Also, we ask that you make any necessary changes to your existing blog to comply as soon as possible, so that you won't experience any interruptions in service. You may also choose to create an archive of your content via Google Takeout.

Sincerely,
The Blogger Team

Most of my blog content isn't what I consider to be explicit or graphic, but....damn....I really don't feel like sorting through SIX YEARS worth of content and deleting what some tightwad may or may not consider to be perverse.  Oh well...if they delete it, so be it.  I still have Paheal, deviantART (to a limited degree), and am now back on Hentai Foundry.

I may reconsider going on tumblr, but...yeah...it's just so impersonal.  'Likes' and 'reblogs' are ok and all, but I'd really miss the human interaction....tumblr is just so mechanical like that.

  1. I'm in a similar situation, wondering if I censor all pictures on my blog, or simply I close the cycle and continue only with HF.

    1. I really hate the idea of closing this blog...or yours for that matter. Dumbing it down to a SFW level kind of defeats the purpose too, as I originally opened the blog for stuff that wasn't acceptable on DA.

I don't know if censoring anything would do any good either....google's policy (as I've read it) isn't that specific.

    2. Frankly if you want my Personal Opinion on this, it's just another form of INternet censorship.. I mean I can cite a few places where this has hppned in the past...

For example.. Remember LLToon over on DeviantArt? Remember tthat he got banned from there because of a picture showing Shego and Kim Licking an IIce Cream cone totether? Remember when a lot of folks, (Myseolf included) put up "Dariy product pictures (like icecream, milk bottles, and yes even "Cow" from Cow and Chicken (and I tastefully covered up the udders... and declared that all dairy products were considered pornograhic? That meant that anyone posting up a picture of even anyone drinking milk, could get banned for it?

And remember how silly that was?

Oh, and let's not forget that"Other place" that one we shall never speak about again, other than by the name "That other Place". Look there at what they did to creativity.. killed it outright..

A lot of people ahve left and now, they want to kick a lot more out.. Talk about a Spanish Inquisition..

John Cleese: "No one EXPECTS the Spanish Inquisiton!"

BUt hey if Google wants to do this, ou'll be seeing how many bloggers shut down, and watch as this site falls like that "Other place..."

and then I have to bring up the social balue of why they are doing this.. They're actually wanting everyone to land in prison.. and why? Because Porn is bad, because it causes sex crimes, the list goes on and on and on...

Frankly the line has to be drawn somehwere and if it doesn't stop here , who says it won't happen again..

As for Tumblr.. Well there are some folks over at Tumbler who are doing quite wll (I know of one site that deals with Drakken and Shego Porn, and there's been no complaints there..)

But all in all this is the way that society looks at us artists anc colorists, if you're not part of the SFW group, then you're an outsider and you're not supposed to be here..

Next thing you'll nnow, the governement will want to hunt us all down and shoot everyone of us.. Why? Who knows and who cares..

Frankly in the end, if you are porndog, you might as well forget about posting here.. This site is just become like "That other place'

And yes the asteroid is falling.. square onto our heads..

Oh well, have fun Google, it's been nice knoiwing you..(Darth Vader).

    3. TC:

      Google: A publicly traded company.

      Pretty much sums it up.

Other than the senior officers of the company, the majority institutional shareholders are old money (and old values) companies like J.P. Morgan Chase, T. Rowe Price, Fidelity, etc....and you gotta answer to the shareholders.

      Wait...shit! I'm a shareholder.

    4. Well, to be honest, I'm a shareholder too. IN fact I'm part of a group which is the 9th largest shareholder in the Walt Disney Company. Remember 10 or so years ago? When a certain CEO by the name of Michael Eisner held the reins of power, and we along with 42.5% of the shareholders said to Mr. Eisner to take a hike? Well it only took 6 months after that vote for that jerk wad to leave the company.. and his successor really hasn't helped the company become anything but more powerful with buyouts of both LucasFilms and of course Marvel..

Wait, I'm a shareholder too.. I wonder what Mr. Eisner would be saying right now if he was sitll in power?

Eisner: "Shit.. I'm a CEO, and I can't grab two of the top brand names in the business? I am SO screwed!

  2. I did see this and wonder how it's going to affect not only your blog but a number of others as well. Damn, what is their problem?

I know going back to the old place isn't going to happen, and is Hentai Foundry any option? If not Tumblr may have to do.

    Best of luck...

  3. The joke is that I have an account so I can interact here but have no actual blog and no posts and I got the same letter.

We may all have to find a way onto the darknet to get away from the repressive, puritanical, politically correct crud that goes on.

btw, loved the Shego carrying Kim to bed work. Can't find the original but I'll keep looking.

    1. The "romantic" one and the three way Q*Bert quote one from Garabatoz' KP comic. I think I found it on g.e-hentai.org

  4. Tumblr is also a good place for that.

    1. I tend to agree and in fact I know of one artist who does a lot of Drakken and Shego work on Tumblr, and in fact I even ask him rather specific questions.. (Like would Shego and Stevie Barkin get back toggether or was this just a bad dream..)

But the point is, where Google Blogger is taking it's toll on people who have both blogs and non blog accounts the reality is, what is the next thing Google will screw up..

Let's see they already have screwed up Youtube (A given ) they've screwed up Google Glasses (Bet you didn't know that they ended the program less than 2 years after it came out)

      and now this..

Frankly I saw a video once and in it people started comparing Google (even though it's a public company), to that of the Evil Empire from Star Wars... Can we say Darth Vader's mother wears Army Boots? I knoew we could..

As for the rest.. No way no how going back to that other place, Rule 34 is still an option.. Hentai Foundry? Good luck with them as they can change the rules at any time. and Deviant Art/ Remember what I said about LLToon.. If Some loser can get him banned, who is not to say that it won't happen again (Also I would like to add besides LLToon another victim of the DeviantArt Witch hunt.. ZFive.. (His Winx Club stuff was darn good and now he's off of Deviant art.. and no one knows the real reason why..)

So yeah if all else fails, fall back to Tumblr.. and if that fails, it's time to go totally underground..

After all your not alone in this purge.. Expect groups like Equestra AfterDark to go the same way..

Oh well Google, that's another world you've destroyed wih your "Death Star" Policies.

  5. I too loved ZFive and was so mad when he got booted. Thank god he's back on his own site...

    1. Really? ZFive has his own site? Man I'd love to get the URL on that one... (After all his work is astonishing about the Winx Club..)

Also to Phillipe, was wondering if you took a look over at DA at the site I have atm.. cause i got 3 pictures that could use a color job..

Also.. why not think about Patreon as aan opption.. if G-man could do it, why not others?

(Heck if I had my way, I'd do Kickstarter myself)

But other than that, It's interesting that Google is now doing.. "Damage control.. "

*Claps hands slowly* Way to go Google, way to go.

    4. Let us also not forget the FCC's very recent vote in favor of "net neutrality". Extremely ill timed on Google's part to start pulling out (what most interpreted as) the big brother card.

      Delete
    5. Ill timed? Try that they were doing this to keep comppanies like Comcase and Verizon happy.. But hey the FCC in this case won the war and I would rather have Net Neutrality rather than ISP's telling us that we can't go faster than DSL unless we pay through the nose..

And thaty is why Cable companies need to be highly regulated.. As well as Airlines..
