Turkey Day

Thanksgiving is a bit of a non-event this year.  Normally I'd be at various relatives houses partaking in the usual holiday traditions like everyone else, but I just couldn't pry myself away from the salt mines for any extended period of time.  That and I didn't really feel like driving 150+ miles, getting back after midnight, and then turning around and going to work at 4:30am.....fighting Black Friday traffic I might add.

  1. Well sorry about that. Say do you check your gmail often?

  2. DH: Nothing to be sorry for...was actually kinda relaxing not to have anybody around or too far away to visit with. My closest relatives are 75-ish miles away, but they were a coupla states away this year...and my gf and her folks are up in Kentucky visiting family. It ain't very often that I get this much "me time".

Actually, I'm running in a 6-cylinder demo derby tomorrow night (yes, a real demolition derby) so it gave me a little extra time to work on my car today.

I check gmail all day...got it on my cell.

  6. Well it doesn't really matter now since Hallmark keeps declining my card. It was a Thanksgiving Day E-card of Snoopy and that little bird jumping in a pile of leaves and after the Happy Thanksgiving message my message was, "even if you didn't necessarily celebrate it :P" I hate it when you try to do something nice for someone something always prevents it from happening :( By the way, I made a shoutout to you in my latest blog post.

  7. DH: Thanks (x2). Technically I did celebrate it, though it was just my gf's dad (he's a slave to his job too) and I eating turkey dinner at Perkins and then going home to watch "Pumpkin Chunkin" on Sci Channel. Hardly a Norman Rockwell painting, but what can yuh do?
