Feral Cats

Not to be confused with stray cats (those who have been lost or abandoned by their owner), feral cats are descendants of domesticated cats that were born in the wild and have limited (if any) contact with humans.  In this particular case, their only contact was when they were captured...and ultimately euthanized.

  2. LH: In a previous life I was an animal control officer in Jacksonville, FL. Adoption or returning an animal to it's owner is/was the ultimate goal, but with some critters (feral animals in this case) it just isn't feasible...either from a public safety standpoint or economic one. It takes a lot of time and money to "de-feral" a cat, either by getting them to interact with people or sterilization and release. Any given municipal government doesn't have that kinda time or money (per animal)...mostly money.
