Formerly the Southern Deposit Bank of Russellville, Kentucky, now a private residence and the Logan County Museum. On March 20, 1868 the James Gang (then known as the James-Younger Gang) robbed it, netting between $12,000 and $15,000...roughly $1.7M in todays dollars. Depending upon which account of the robbery one reads, it's debatable as to whether Jeese James actually took part in the robbery, but descriptions of the robbers at the time indicated that both Jesse and older brother Frank were participants. The town reenacts the robbery on horseback and in period costume during it's annual Tobacco and Heritage Festival.
